One True Loves: A Novel Review

From the New York Times bestselling author Taylor Jenkins Reid, a breathtaking new love story about a woman unexpectedly forced to choose between the husband she has long thought dead and the fiancé who has finally brought her back to life.

ONE TRUE LOVES NOVEL

TJR (Taylor Jenkins Reid) is a new author to me, and this is my first book I have ever read for her. As for this book, one true loves it's an extremely good romance book.

"True Love doesn't always last" it's a fantastic Concept That the author chosen for her novel and the opening scene took my breath away and made me wonder from the very first line, especially since the first sentence combined the word fiancé and husband in the same sentence.

My beat scene is...

“Are you seeing Jesse everywhere, too?” I asked, entirely missing the point. Earlier that day, I’d walked right by him coming out of Spanish class. It will be move soon.

From One True Loves: A Novel

I think the reason for my love for the scene is that it is a scene in the beginning and that it is a simple scene that expresses feelings of admiration humorously

As for the end of the novel, I expected it because it is the logical ending, but because of my belief that the marriage relationship is a sacred relationship that is offended by true love.

I hoped the end would be illogical and that she would return to her husband.

Evidence of the Affair: A Novel Review

Amazing short story! I listened to this Audible book too this morning and I loved it! ❤

Evidence of the Affair

TJR (Taylor Jenkins Reid) is a new author to me, but now she one of my favourite this is the second book that I have read to her and the first of its kind as a system of letters. I thought several times about writing a story with this system, but I never succeeded, so I am very happy to have such a book. .

Beginning in 1976, a written correspondence commences between the wife and husband whose spouses are having an affair with one another. 87 pages. That's all it took to make me love the characters and to make me root for David and Carrie with all my heart. I'm in awe with how Taylor Jenkins Reid made me feel so many strong emotions.

The whole book is written through letters, but don't let that stop you: it was definitely the perfect way to tell this story. Some letters were gut-wrenching . They felt so real, like they were addressed to me. “I’ve always been struck by the idea that you can’t be all that happy something has returned if it doesn’t go away in the first place.”

This a very short story, but packs a powerful, poignant, and emotional punch. How an author manages to cram so many turbulent feelings, and incredible character growth into such a small amount of space is remarkable

I felt so many emotions reading the letters-heartbreak, despair, hope. As a married woman, I would be devastated if something like this happened to me, and I shed real tears for Carrie and David. I did like that we got to see some of the letters from Janet and Ken as well, despite how sick and angry they made me feel. While their spouses were having an affair, these strangers found each other, helped and supported each other, and it was beautiful.

As for the end of the novel, I expected it because it is the logical ending, but because of my belief that the marriage relationship is a sacred relationship that is offended by true love.

I didn't expect the ending. The twist was so good and I think this sentence is the best expression of the concept of work “It is funny the crazy things our brains make up to save us from the truth.”.

After I Do: A Novel Review

I have heard about this book from everyone saying how good and touching it is. And I totally agree. This book is hard, beautiful, and heartbreaking. While I have never been married, I have been in serious, long-term relationships so I could resonate with most of the stuff this book talked about.

However, I imagine if you have been or are married, this will resonate with you even more and probably hit you harder. This book was an emotional read, but it brought up so many important topics and concepts. This is the first Taylor Jenkins Reid book I have read, and so far I love her writing!.

I loved the characters in this book and their relationships. In the book, we read from Lauren’s perspective and really get to know her emotionally. We also get to know her family, their family dynamics, and her relationships with them, which also enhances the themes in the book. Further, we see Lauren’s growth as well both personally and within her relationships.

I also enjoyed Ryan’s character, although I felt we didn’t know as much about him, probably because we didn’t read from his perspective. The way the way the author wrote made me feel connected to, and care about the side-characters too.

I wished it went a little deeper into some areas and topics in the book. Maybe further emotional exploration or further content about the year the couple spent away from one another. I would recommend this to anyone who has been in a series relationship or is married as well. I think this was a touching book, and can be a great conversation starter about marriages, love, and relationships.

It was a very quick read, so smooth and easy that I believe I finished it in a couple hours but what an amazing story. The main couple met each other in their college years and fell in love instantly dedicated to themselves not too far after and had a decade long marriage.

Maybe in Another Life: A Novel Review

A breathtaking new novel about a young woman whose fate hinges on the choice she makes after bumping into an old flame; in alternating chapters, we see two possible scenarios unfold—with stunningly different results.

Maybe in Another Life

I'm only 90 pages in and I'm not sure I can do the next 210+. .

The premise of this book seemed interesting (Sliding Doors) but it just seems like 2 rather dull stories stuck back to back. It's very dialogue driven, but it's generally pointless dialogue: Are you ok? - Yes, I'm fine - Are you sure you're ok? etc...

But I wanted to be honest with you, but this does not change that the concept is unique and deserves to be given a chance.

If a time comes and I complete this book, expect a complete and comprehensive evaluation of it, because it contains several aspects that need clarification, and its time may not have come to me yet.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo: A Novel Review

Starting at the young age of fourteen and ending when she’s seventy-nine (when we first meet Evelyn), Evelyn Hugo has gone from bombshell, to sexpot, to Oscar winner, to civil rights supporter. Evelyn knew what she wanted from an early age

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

I spent half my time loving her and the other half hiding how much I loved her.”This is one of the best books I’ve ever had the privilege to read. It is probably in the top five for best books I’ve ever read in my entire life. I have been looking for a book like this my entire life, and no combination of words I’m about to type, and you’re about to read, is going to do this masterpiece justice. But I will say that Gabby, Joce, Amelie, and Elyse were all right, and I’m so happy I listened to them, because this book is worth every single ounce of hype. And when I say that this book is lifechanging, I truly mean it. This book is sold as a historical romance, where you learn about a fictional, famous, old Hollywood actress and all her marriages. What you get is a book that stars a bisexual, Cuban woman who was never allowed to talk about the love of her life; her wife. And when I say I cried during this book, I truly mean that I probably need to buy a new copy because I was the biggest mess you’ve ever seen.

I do not know what can be said about this book in terms of praise. In fact, I think that I will read it more than once in my coming days. I highly recommend it to you.

I thank everyone who took the time to read these reviews and I hope I helped everyone find what they need.
